My work focuses on the use of oil painting and ceramics to explore the relationship between visual perception, surface, and depth.

Through the repetition of modules derived from the drawing of natural organic forms, I create compositions that at first glance may evoke ornamentation or seem designed to limit gaze — but, in my intention, they go beyond what is immediately visible.

In the Soma series, these modules behave like veils: they form a compact surface, as to conceal what lies behind, whereas they stimulate desire to look beyond.

This veil, is not a barrier, it’s an invitation — to be curious, to go deeper, to search for what is hidden beneath or within the image.

I’m interested in having the initial visual impact come from strong, intense colours — colours that shift gaze beyond a possible or recognizable reality. This immediate layer serves to capture attention, but also sets the stage for a second moment: one of slower, more reflective, and conscious observation.
