Studio la Città for Artinrete 2026
Kevork Mourad, Ties that Bind Us and Franco Passalacqua, Totems

On 2 May 2026, for the occasion of Artinrete 2026, Studio la Città is delighted to unveil The Ties That Bind Us, an event-specific installation by Kevork Mourad, alongside an installation of five Totems by Franco Passalacqua.

The exhibition provides a profound insight into the practice of Syrian-Armenian artist Kevork Mourad. His work is defined by a swift, narrative line that yields multi-layered compositions, where memory, calligraphy, and landscape are inextricably entwined.

The artist’s heritage and the history of his ancestral lands are central to his poetics; these elements manifest as images suspended between existential conflict and collective memory, evoking the intricate architectures and deep-rooted connections of a complex, interconnected Middle Eastern culture.

In the entrance hall, Franco Passalacqua’s Totems are presented with monumental gravitas. These works investigate the forest as a generative and redemptive structure: the tree becomes both module and visual system, evolving into a texture and a language that commands attention with the resonance of a naturalistic mantra.
