This photo album documents the solo exhibition “Tensioni” at Studio la Città, a critical and visual journey centred on Paolo Icaro’s work from the second half of the 1990s onwards. Curated by Marco Meneguzzo, with contributions from Lara Conte, the text explores the concept of “tension” both as a physical phenomenon and as a metaphor for the human existential condition. Materials such as harmonic steel and plaster flex and arrange themselves within the space, giving shape to an unstable reality that constantly yearns for tranquillity. Through minimal and imperceptible variations, the artist succeeds in making visible the invisible that surrounds us, continually deconstructing and reconstructing the traditional boundaries of visual language.
