Path to the Sky is a delicate and evocative installation— a cascade of small kites, bound together in an embrace, floating silently in the Museum’s inner sky. It symbolizes the unity of human beings, an illusory bridge between earth and sky. Hashimoto’s work resonates with the symbolic and physical essence of the space that hosts it: the Santa Maria della Scala, a place that has transformed through centuries. Once a refuge for pilgrims, a place of healing, and a sanctuary for those in distress, it now continues to welcome artists and visitors, embodying the timeless mission of embracing humanity without prejudice.
Just as Charon ferries souls or Atlas bears the sky, Hashimoto invites us to lift our gaze toward a broader horizon. His installation marks the transition from the intimate courtyard of the Museum to a pan-humanistic journey toward the vastness of the universe.
