Herbert Hamak\u2019s works in the forest of Villa Valmarana ai Nani, Vicenza, certainly constitute an exhibition, but the result is, above all, an environmental installation.<\/p>

The forest\u2019s seasonal cycle of growth transforms it continuously\u2014every season, every day, every hour. Budding, flowering, and leafing recur endlessly, always in new ways, as part of the natural rhythm of the forest at Villa Valmarana ai Nani.<\/p>

Herbert Hamak\u2019s installation\u2014composed of blocks, columns, bars, cubes, and curved forms made from a composition of resin and coloured pigment – materials that seem as far removed as possible from the unfolding of a flower in its natural setting – despite this complete dissonance with natural phenomena, adds something essential to nature\u2019s unfolding. The Needle <\/strong><\/em>[1]<\/strong><\/a>, becomes a compass, a sextant, and an hourglass within a forest that was already alive. It introduces order: art brings the human and the natural into harmony.<\/p>

This environmental alchemy dissolves conventional curatorial choices, which would traditionally be emphasized, and instead follows a geographical and almost automatic logic. Hamak\u2019s works find their place in the lavender field and along the edges of the property, following the cardinal north\u2013south axis, defining the boundary between the forest of Villa Valmarana and its surroundings, while softening the flowering landscape. This is not a contrived installation; everything seems to arrange itself with an inevitable, almost self-generating coherence.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Herbert Hamak creates a radical art that communicates with the natural world and with light. His works allow light to pass through them, reflect it, absorb it, and simply exist, maintaining an extraordinarily delicate balance between nature and thought, between Italy\u2019s historic architectural heritage and a new formal order.<\/p>

Herbert Hamak does not seek to impose himself; rather, he joins Giandomenico Tiepolo, Antonio Canova, Antonio Caregaro Negrin, Augusto Ortoleva, and Aurelio Cantone within the magical algorithm of the Valle del Silenzio, in which the forest of Villa Valmarana<\/em> [2]<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is immersed.<\/p>

The contemplative state and the relationship between space and time acquire a new dimension. The language changes, yet its deepest content remains the same.<\/p>

An installation of this scale, set within such a complex environment, reveals that every work by Herbert Hamak\u2014regardless of its size, colour or form – is itself an environmental installation. Each artwork, whether placed on any wall or in any park, interacts with the fundamental elements that allow us to
recognize what nature is.<\/p>

[1] The Needle<\/strong><\/em> is an amaranth-coloured resin sculpture created by Herbert Hamak in 2015. After being displayed in major
exhibitions featuring the artist\u2019s work, it was donated by Studio la Citt\u00e0 to the Bosco di Villa Valmarana ai Nani in 2026,

[2] Villa Valmarana ai Nani<\/em><\/strong> (Vicenza), overlooking the Valletta del Silenzio, is a complex renowned for the frescoes by Giambattista Tiepolo (in the Palazzina) and his son Giandomenico Tiepolo (in the Foresteria). The names mentioned represent the artists, sculptors (such as Canova\u2019s circle) and landscape architects (Caregaro Negrin, Ortoleva, Cantone) who, between the 18th and 20th centuries, shaped the Villa and its woods.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
